For those that have reviewed and left poor ratings stating it didn't work to upgrade there Windows 7 systems, they did not read the details or requirements.
It is clearly stated that a Requirement is that you have Windows 10 Home, not any other version of Windows. No where does it state this Upgrade Key works for any other version than Windows 10 Home. I thought this would be the perfect way to upgrade from my Windows 7 Professional OS. It's not. This is only for upgrading to Windows 10 from a Windows 8 OS. The instructions explicitly inform that the user must have Windows 10 Home version installed on their computer prior to using this upgrade.
It will do nothing for you if you have any other OS. Their lack of paying attention seems to be their primary reason for their dissatisfaction. I installed it this upgrade on my 17" HP Omen laptop. This was not the case. The home version kept creating a recovery boot partition on my hard drives, even after formatting them. Anyhow, if you want a Windows 10 Pro OS from the get-go, I suggest purchasing a computer that has the Pro version installed at new.
One merchant on Amazon advertised one, but never responded to my inquiries concerning it, so I went with someone else who had a hardware configuration that was closest to my desires. It is a Home to Pro upgrade for existing Windows 10 installations. The description is highly misleading and extremely annoying now that I have to do a two step to go to the steaming pile known as Windows I dislike the fact that Microsoft essentially forces users of Windows to upgrade to Windows 10, forces them to upgrade Office products and charges people for this privilege.
That and the productivity hit getting everything working again with the new software makes this a nightmare. Not so subtle form of extorsion Microsoft. The product is misleading in the fact that it will only work on upgrading a windows 10 standard version to a windows 10 pro version.
Will not work with windows 7 or 8 to upgrade to windows Non refundable so had to turn around and buy the full windows 10 pro version. I bought this software because it was Windows 10 Pro, which I wanted. Several sources indicated that I could have had a free upgrade to Windows 10 Home. I decided to pay for this product because it is advertised to be Windows 10 Pro. There seems to be no way I can ask a question or get help. This program upgrades an existing Windows 10 Home edition to the Professional edition.
